The Missouri Senate returned to Jefferson City on Monday, following the 41-hour filibuster of SB 748 (Federal Reimbursement Allowance) by members of the Freedom Caucus last week. Majority Leader O’Laughlin wanted to go to the only agenda item on the order of business, which was SB 748. Following ten minutes of Senator Eigel talking loudly, the Senate adjourned for the day. Fortunately, they were able to move bills forward Tuesday and Wednesday. The Senate was expected to take up the budget this morning.

SB 727 (Koenig, Manchester, Dist. 15) education omnibus bill, signed by Governor
SB 912 (B. Brown, Washington, Dist. 26) veterans/military affairs omnibus bill
SB 1359 (Trent, Greene County, Dist.20) financial omnibus bill
HB 1495 (Griffith, Jefferson City, Dist. 60) tasks the MO Veterans Commission with expanding its efforts to prevent veteran suicide
HB 1751 (Haffner, Pleasant Hill, Dist. 55), solid waste management permits (Raymore landfill), signed by Governor
HB 1909 (Taylor, Bunceton, Dist. 48) meeting requirements for county political party committees
HB 2057 (Keathley, Chesterfield, Dist. 101) related to municipal franchise fees for video service providers, which will now include streaming content
HB 2111 (Christofanelli, St. Peters, Dist. 104) expands powers of the State Auditor
HB 2287 (Christofanelli) education omnibus bill companion, signed by Governor
HB 2634 (C. Smith, Carthage, Dist. 163) defunding Planned Parenthood
Governor Parson signed HB 2016, allocating funding for deployment of MO National Guard and State Troopers to the Texas border, while at the border this week. Parson was scheduled to sign HB 2634, defunding Planned Parenthood, in Jefferson City this morning. Then to Springfield where he was to sign HB 1803 to increase the cap of the State Treasurer’s MOBUCK$ program.
